hey, it's ok (tuesday) 11.29

hey, it's ok

...to be pretty certain the new container store at the mall is going to be your new happy place
...to not kare about keeping up with kardashians or how everything they kreate has a k
...to be pretty certain that the previous statement will eventually disappear from your blog because the misspellings are gonna drive you crazy
...to be oh so very thankful for the uber-comfy faux-fur lined boots you picked up for $10.  not only do they get compliments EVERY time i leave the house, they are must-haves for cold weather!

...to not believe baby g when the response to "what are you eating?" is "ummm....tongue."
*insert moment to go swipe the fuzz out of baby g's mouth*
...to be re-making the stuffing and potatoes tonight because we ran out of them first and they were the best.
...to be considering chucking the turkey after all the other leftovers are gone.  it was good, but come on.
...to be excited that my friend michael logan's song is going to be on one of my favorite shows (parenthood) tonight.
...to once in awhile take a nap when the kid does.  because it's just necessary
...to get this blog up approximately 10 hours past the time you meant to.  oops :-)

go visit amber's amazing blog and make a list of your own!
also, brownie giveaway ends thursday :-)

hey, it's ok (tuesday) 11.15

hey, it's ok

...to not put up a post yesterday.  it was going to be another wedding post but i simply do not have the photos uploaded yet.
...to have JUST added to my to-do list: upload wedding photos
...to wish i could show you photos of the cuteness i just captured from baby g.  suffice it to say, she's adorable.
...to be having WAY too much fun with siri on my new iphone
...to be considering putting up a "what i'm wearing" post every week or so BUT
...to then realize that i dress quite casually at least 2 days a week so that would likely be boring for you all
...to feel a sense of accomplishment for getting all my food boards on pinterest organized this morning #dork
...to use hashtags outside of twitter as long as it's not #allthetime #likethis #seewhatididthere
...to be ready to have our crap organized and the house looking GREAT
...to realize that is not going to happen in the next week or two based on our schedules
...to have to be ok with that

please visit this great blog to see the original and link up with your own list of things that are ok!

hey, it's ok (tuesday)

hey, it's ok

...to have found a line of suuuuper comfy sweatpants (bamboo and organic cotton, thank you) that you pretty much want to live in.
...to be planning one full evening of creating tomorrow. here's hoping the necklace i have in my head is as fantastic as i think it will be!
...to be honored that i have been chosen to take over the boss's emails and other duties while she's away. considering i have only been at this job since late july, that's pretty cool...and YAY for extra hours worked meaning extra money for wedding stuff!
...to be nerdily (?) excited about the idea of sitting down with my future hubby and coming up with a tentative monthly budget. now...if only we could find a time to SIT.DOWN. ;-)
...to hope that the 24/7 post office is still in service, since i will most likely need to use it wednesday late!
...to feel a *need* to find your label maker for pantry items and the storage room. because, whats more fun than a crisp and shiny label on stuff?
...to hope that there is a fabric out there that both anthony and i will LOVE to recover the couch in the living room with. i so want my red and turquoise scheme, and that just isn't going to happen with the couch in it's present condition.
...to be absolutely one hundred percent disgusted by the slug you found eating the cat food late last night. what is the DEAL with that anyway? been there, done that...maybe i should find some high-sodium food for emi.

go to amber's blog to link up with your own list of ok things...or just to read some awesomely funny stuff.

hey, it's ok (tuesday)

hey, it's ok!

...to be a little creeped out by certain people without being able to pinpoint an actual reason.
...to declare some days pajama days (as long as you're home, that is!)
...to be annoyed that the battery on your iPhone seems to be getting worse and worse. as well as numerous other things.
...to be holding out for the iPhone 5 (or whatever they decide to call it) this fall.
...to once in awhile have a 'ramen noodles for dinner' night, not because you can't afford anything else, but because you actually LIKE ramen noodles. (kimchee is really good with ramen, in case you're wondering...)
...to have laughed until you snorted several times while watching bridesmaids
...to occasionally snort while laughing
...to be really excited about little things like apartment hunting, engagement pictures, and invitation wording

what i'm loving wednesday .6

i'm loving snuggles with toddlers

i'm loving that the weather being 90+ and humid means it's perfect acceptable to wear a dress any day of the week for any event.

i'm loving chunky jewelry and mixing & matching different pieces i've made to feel creative again.  i'm about to revamp my etsy shop, i think and actually try selling a few things again!

i'm loving that i start with a new family next week.  sad to see this job end, but it was such a positive and perfectly fitting together transition that i'm excited about the future. :-)

i'm loving twitter.  i thought it was SO tacky for SO long, and now...i'm kinda addicted.

i'm loving times of worship and ministry...the last couple of weeks have been so amazing and God has been doing such great things in my life!

i'm loving that for a few moments life has slowed down and that i get to be creative in the kitchen again more often.  perhaps a few more recipes will make their way to these pages soon :-)

i'm loving times spent with girlfriends sipping cups of hot tea or trying new foods or just sitting in the car for an hour telling stories.

i'm loving my amazing fiancé who is willing to stumble down this crazy road with me hand in hand.

i'm loving that i know that i know that i know that God is our amazing provider...and is giving me more than i could ever ask or imagine!

hey, it's ok (tuesday) .11

hey, it's ok

...to consider your bed and couch a kleenex wasteland when allergies hit hard
...to randomly sing/hum songs from musicals while driving/getting dressed and realize it 5 minutes into "surry with the fringe on top"
...to not get that at ALL.  i mean, when's the last time i watched a musical??
...to be a little proud that your dvr is currently under 20 percent
...to really really really dig your new tervis tumbler
(it has cherry blossoms on it and a lid...so pouring a diet coke into it before getting into the car makes spills much less likely.  and with me, that's important!)
...to be way.too.excited about an idea you've come up with to organize and keep track of what's in your pantry, freezer and fridge at all times.  because you like to coupon but you don't want to hoard.
(and yes, that idea involves a constantly updated spreadsheet.  and yes, that squeal you just heard was me geeking out at the thought)
...to geek out over spreadsheets
...to be really really excited about the 5 bags full of clothes that you FINALLY found in storage.  and to be REALLY excited that some of the clothing in them is (a) in season and (b) looks good
...to have hit the borders store closing sale HARD last weekend.  i ended up getting several berenstein bear books (LOVE them) and a couple of other kids books for under $20.
...to (often) just want a nap.

(visit amber for the original of this!)

thursday's ten: if i were gonna buy an easter dress...

(which i'm not)...
but IF i were

here are 10 options that i would most definitely consider :)

1-4 from anthropologie

5 - 6
from victorias secret

7. from j crew
8. from ann taylor
9. from ann taylor loft
10. from new york & co

what about you?  what's on your dress wish list?
(i'm not getting one...because a wedding dress is on the horizon.  and a rehearsal dinner dress.  and a party dress for the girls night before.  no need for an easter dress too...)

Thursday's Ten: fall stuff

last week i shared one of my favorite fall things
fall tv

this week...the rest of the good stuff :0)

for the record, i'm not a huge fan of what comes after fall.  but these initial days of breezes blowing through the screen door, tickling the wind chimes, crisp leaves to crunch, warm beverages to delight in...they are what i like.
winter can be skipped.
(although, yes, i'll try to come up with a top 10 list when winter comes too.  most likely #1 will be 'tennessee's is short')

soooo,

my favorite things about fall

1.  bonfires and outdoor activities
2.  starbucks: pumpkin spice latte.  yes please.
3.  actually, pumpkin anything.  and the cinnamon pumpkin fragrance mixes...to.die.for
4.  gorgeous scenery to capture in a picture
5.  pumpkin delights from little debbie.  i haven't seen them yet this year...i hope they're actually back!
6.  being able to walk/run/jog without being completely drenched in sweat from the moment you step outside
7.  football...yes, i'm hooked.  love going to NFL games, love watching it on tv
8.  blankets on the couch and robes at the ready.  and slippers.  ahhh.
9.  fall clothing.  i do love me some comfy clothes
10.  soup season.  oh, how i love comfort food.  oh, how i love an excuse to make soup!

join me, yes?  what are your favorite things about this season?

Thursday's Ten: the pink things i want to buy

it's hard to believe that september is nearly over and october is right around the corner

but it is

and october, as most of us know, is breast cancer awareness month
which has always been near and dear to my heart
but even more so this year, since my friend has a diagnosis and goes in for surgery next week

so today's thursday's ten are ten things that are fun, fashionable...and proceeds go to breast cancer research.

enjoy!

1. first up, from the simply vera collection by vera wang (at kohls -- ALL of the items in the collection are priced at $5 or $10!)

2. also from the simply vera collection

3. and another (i could have seriously filled up this list with JUST the items i want from this collection!)
4. an aromatherapy candle from pink ribbon marketplace

5. also from pink ribbon marketplace, a coffee cup with a courage scripture inside, and scripture cards included

6. from target.com, a fun little cosmetic set

7. brita pitcher (also from target although i'm sure they're sold elsewhere)

8. water bottle (target)

9. i'm salivating over this laptop messenger bag from ebags
but this one is more affordable
10. and if you're into the REALLY designer stuff, here's a coat from tommy hilfiger. no word on price yet, but it should be available on the website soon.

i am determined

- to figure out a way to make sweet tea using my fresh stevia leaves instead of sugar
(anyone have any hints on that? i've not found much online...)

- to become a real coupon lady ;-)
(i had my first every "saved more than i spent" moment this week. ok, so it was a dollar more saved than spent but STILL. can't wait to do more!)

- to make a killer mojito...strawberry or otherwise!

- to eventually have a savings account again...

- to find some adorable pajama pants soon. i heart pajama pants.

- to run/walk the neighborhood soon. but it's so HOT...so

- to wiifit more often :) i'm averaging 3x a week or so (and actually seeing results!) but i'd rather do daily if possible.

this blog brought to you by (an) appointment...

i walked in with my bag, starbucks double-insulated cup filled with iced coffee in hand.

spoke to the receptionist, handed over my keys

sat in a comfy chair and gave a cursory glance to the magazines splayed out on the table before simply reaching into the bag and pulling out my laptop

smiling as i noticed the girl sitting opposite me was also typing on a macbook.

her drink of choice is perrier water—with lime

trendy girls, we are

and then i begin to wonder:

am i being trendy for the sake of being trendy?

does that girl LIKE perrier water or is she drinking it because of a fancy name

or fancy bubbles

do i really prefer starbucks coffee?

yes, i brewed my own coffee for the iced coffee in the cup, but no one else knows that…

do we as girls REALLY enjoy wearing high heels?

do people sign up for graduate school because it’s the thing to do,

or do they truly have a passion for what they’re studying?

i suppose it’s different for everyone

i love apple products, so yes i have a macbook

(and an iphone)

and while i enjoy a good coffee anywhere

most of my coffee travel mugs come from starbucks

(i like their style, what can i say?)

and while i much prefer flip-flips

or bare feet

i do like that i feel sexy in a cute pair of heels

so there you go

i'm going to assume that the girl across from me also loves apple

and prefers her water “con gaso”

and now i'll stop thinking so deeply

and just wait for my oil change to be over.

Thursday's Ten: contemplation

if you're anything like me, you spend a bit of time "wondering" every day. it's not really worrying...just contemplating. trying to figure out how things work, what's going on. here are a few things i'm wondering about lately.

1. whether or not i should drop my health insurance coverage and put the money i would be spending on it in savings for emergencies of all sorts
(if it only pays 20% of my hospital bill and my premiums for a year would nearly pay that bill...is it really worth it? especially knowing that most places give a discount to uninsured patients?)
2. why i sneeze so dang much
3. whether my rosebush is salvageable
4. how to find a good vet for my baby girl
5. whether to bother buying some summer clothing right now--it's SO hot, but i plan to be in smaller clothing pretty soon, so i can suffer through the first 10 pounds in yoga pants and stretchy shorts, right?!
6. whether or not i care about soccer
7. when i can squeeze in my atlanta trip. it's happening, i just keep having other things come up! argh.
8. how to jump on the coupon queen bandwagon. i mean, i do it...casually. time to get serious!
9. when i get to see penguins again...
;-)
10. where on earth i put the plug to my computer adaptor...i mean, seriously...there are only a very few square feet to choose from here...ugh.

join me, won't you? i need to know i'm not the only crazy "wonderer" out there!
