thursday's ten: currently

i ran across this post on one of my favorite blogs last week, and just had to use it sometime.  what better time than for thursday's ten?






currently listening on repeat to
mostly pandora stations, but the new Jesus Culture album gets my attention each time.  may have to be my next purchase with those gift cards i got for christmas!

currently planning to cook
in the next two weeks, new (to me) recipes will include slow cooker Thai beef, a stuffed baguette, gyros, bacon and caramelized onion tart, and some sort of garlic cheesy bread

currently reading
the lost symbol (dan brown)
and a book that i'll be reviewing here soon: close enough to hear God breathe (greg paul)

currently discovering
how incredibly handy my food processor is.  i use that thing at LEAST every other day.  love.it.

currently catching up on the trend of
big bang theory.  we started watching season one on new year's eve and are now partly through season 3. if we didn't have to do silly things like sleep we'd probably be caught up to the current season!

currently organizing
guest rooms and closets.  of course, the pantry/kitchen is ever-ongoing

currently dreading
cleaning out the garage and storage room or as they are known around here the "just put it in the..." areas

currently drinking
the usual suspects of water with fresh mint, daily coffee and the occasional stevia sweet tea, soda stream or diet coke.  we've also discovered the carbonated zevia drinks at whole foods are are liking them too

currently desiring
a juicer...a good blender...more toms...uggs...a north face jacket...and lululemon yoga/dance pants

currently creating
mischief?  i've been more creative in the kitchen than with jewelry or other crafting lately, but i think it's time to make a few fun pieces, even if they're just for me :-)

that this bookstore

would somehow be saved.

it's nashville's only "local" bookstore

been around for 30 years

and because the company that owns it went bankrupt 

they're closing it

here's wishing and hoping that a wonderful, rich person

(or group of people)

will be able to keep it's doors open!

(i mean, there's a facebook page and everything.  it could happen)

  one of my favorite bloggers does a regular feature that i love...today i'm joining her for the first time!

so, here's what i'm wishful for.  and because i saw a theme with the first couple, i'm just making it a theme :0)

a food processor, a kitchenaid mixer (red please), a cute apron, one of those awesome choppers from williams-sonoma, pampered chef batter bowls and pizza stone.

i'm thinking some of these will be on a wedding registry one of these days ;-) but i may have to get the food processor pronto :0)

Thursday's Ten: Wish List

I know we just had Christmas, so our lists of wants/needs may be a little short right now (or not), but I thought it might be fun to share our lists of wants--silly little (or big) material things. I will say that I only plan to buy one thing on this list for myself anytime soon, so this is more of a "back of my mind" list

1. Ugg boots.
Reason I have fake ones: I live in Tennessee. There's just not much of a need for actual Uggs.
But they're soooo pretty...

2.
a Wii
(this is the one I'll actually be buying...most likely around my birthday in March. With a WiiFit)

3.
a trip back to Zuma beach. The Pacific waters are calling my name!
4.
a North Face jacket
Maybe that would motivate me to atually walk/run in the cold?
5.
a food processor. Ok, this is the other one that I'll probably be buying in the next few months. I have a teeeeeeny tiny 1 cup one that doesn't do squat. I don't want anything this fancy, just this size.
6.
staying in the kitchen for one more (although I have to stop myself--I could do a ten list of items I'm wanting for the kitchen)
a stand mixer. how much easier would life be!
7. One of these in the travel mug version. I had one a few years ago, and I left it at work one day (teaching at the time) and I've never seen it again. :( It's the Chicago skyline. I do have one from Boston like this.
8. A really cool coupon organizer for that geeky side of me.
9. lulu lemon yoga pants. I hear they're AMAZING but expensive, so they'll wait.
10. lots of things on etsy, but specifically fingerless gloves. aren't they cute? and great for typing OR for my iPhone which only responds to human touch...
